Artist Statement
I love the fact the world is not as it seems. How is it that invisible things at work define our world and move throughout our universe? How does that relate to abstract art?  If everything  around me is not as it seems to the eye,  then,  subjectively, I can express artistically anything I feel or sense.   Inspiration for my art comes from nature and the world around me,  and in particular  the coastal environment where I live. It’s imagery seeps into my work intuitively, from the seen and unseen  and onto the 2 dimensional world of my canvas. I have been influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement of the 20th century and also by the Impressionist movement. I have been mentored by many art teachers including Lea Price, Barry Rafuse, and by Nicholas Wilton.
