Michelle Sorensen, was born in Calgary, AB and recently moved back to the Okanagan where she was raised. Intrigued and inspired by the dynamic versatility of glass and through the manipulation of glass and the use of natural and found objects Michelle creates a soulful impressionistic vision.
Sorensen work is sculptural in its form. Light and shadows dance through each piece, revealing hidden intricacies of line, colour and texture. Masks, mirrors and jewellery are her passion, each original in design.
Her artist statement reads… “I am drawn to the ancient medium for a variety of reasons; the diverse way it holds, reflects and transmits light, in it’s fragility it has strength, through creative thought and process it encompasses spirituality and balance”.

Michelle studied Fine Arts at the Okanagan University College and Lithography at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver BC.
Her glass sculptures had been shown at the Waterfront, Mendel Gallery in Saskatoon, SK – Festival of Arts in Calgary, AB – Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon, SK – ARTE funktional in Kelowna BC.
