Lorena Krause, born in Mexico City, moved to Canada in 2000. This Langley, BC based artist exhibit a body of small-scale two-dimensional mixed media artwork titled GoPoP’s.
GoPoPs: Acronym for glass on painting on paper.
By adopting the methodology of colour field painting, Krause’s use of colour stains on paper complemented by miniature hand-made glass elements results in a presentation of multiple images in a visual field devoid of any representational references.
Meticulous, detailed and fastidious; this extensive series of chronological stain paintings by Lorena Krause is both a testament to her diverse artistic practice as it is to her passion for life and personal experiences.
Lorena graduated inVisual Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2010, with the “Outstanding Achievement Award”.
