Stephan Bircher, born in Switzerland, Stephan get his inspiration from natural bones, technology trash and other found objects.
As the artist describes… “The process in my studio is experimenting with all the found elements. They developed, they grow and come alive like a new creature… Then comes the lights and movements, which gives an intensive, atmospheric expression and contrast.
It is always a joy and quite often a surprise how the sculptures expressions win dynamic, with the movement”.
Besides creating sculptures and jewellery, Stephan also works as a light designer with multiple theatre groups across British Columbia and Europe.

1982 – 1988 – Basel canvas streetlamp paintings, Basel, Switzerland
1999 – current – Design and construction of the “Pandamobile” for the Swiss WWF, a moving hands on exhibition for schools.

He now makes his home in Enderby, BC. and spend a lot of time in his studio tinkering with bones and found objects.
