Noëlle Nadeau Khoo is an Okanagan abstract painter.
A strong connection to nature, meditation and yoga is what guides her intuitive approach to painting. In 1999, the artist completed the Bachelor of Fine Arts at UBC, and in 2006 went to study mixed media painting at Emily Carr in Vancouver, as well as at UBC-O, Kelowna Campus in 2009.
Layering many passes of paint and mixed media onto the support, painting becomes a conversation where Noëlle endeavours to listen and respond to what is presenting at the moment. Movements are sometimes contemplative and slow and at other times fast and furious.

Inspired by David R Hawkins’ books Power VS. Force and most recently Letting Go, the work in Noëlle’s most recent series is an exploration of energy in action. Noëlle has endeavoured to create artwork that lifts the spirits and creates peace by keeping in mind – and writing into the paint – high vibration and heath inducing states of mind and words. Most of these words are covered in layers of paint but If you look closely you may see ‘peace’, ‘love’, gratitude’, and other positive mental and emotional states and life affirming words.

Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at the Kelowna Art Gallery, Kelowna BC – Peachland Art Gallery, Peachland BC – Sopa Fine Arts, Kelowna BC – Rotary Centre of the Arts, Kelowna BC – Asian Centre, Vancouver BC – Gallery Gachet, Vancouver BC – Art & Design Gallery, UBC, Vancouver BC – Federation Canadian Artists, Kelowna BC.

Noëlle has been living in West Kelowna for the last few years.
